Sierra Leone is an English-speaking West African state on the Atlantic coast and a member of the Commonwealth and ECOWAS. GO-FOR-GOLD is a naturalisation arrangement announced by the Sierra Leone Immigration Department in January 2025. It operates under a Special Naturalisation Protocol, is administered by a master agent and offers four application options, all processed online. No dedicated legislation or implementing regulation has yet been enacted; please read the section on legal basis and current status before applying.
GO-FOR-GOLD is open to foreign investors and to applicants of African descent. Its four options are structured by the number of applicants and family composition; the document requirements centre on basic personal records, and certification and the oath are completed online.
Solo Entrepreneur, Enterprise for two applicants, Fast Track with family members, and Heritage for applicants of African descent — chosen according to the number of applicants and family composition.
The identity pre-check, document upload, certification, signing and oath are all completed remotely (original documents are required). There is no residency requirement and no need to travel to Sierra Leone.
Funds are deposited with the escrow agent named in the escrow agreement and released on the agreed conditions after approval; due diligence is carried out by an independent third-party firm.
Sierra Leone has permitted dual citizenship since 2006, and its passport offers easier travel among the member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
We review the legal basis of every program before recommending it. The findings below reflect our review as of October 2026 and should be understood before engagement.
On 2 January 2025 the Sierra Leone Immigration Department (SLID) announced new arrangements for the naturalisation of qualifying foreign investors and persons of Sierra Leonean ancestry. On 21 October 2025 the Chief Immigration Officer confirmed in writing that applications are processed under a Special Naturalisation Protocol.
The program relies on section 27 of the Sierra Leone Citizenship Act 1973, as amended (the President's power to make regulations giving effect to the Act), and on presidential discretion. A dedicated Citizenship (Special Naturalization) Regulation and amendments to the Act remain in draft and had not been enacted as of October 2026.
The program is administered by its master agent, Hong Kong Visa Centre, together with TG 2050 LTD, which operate the online pre-check platform and arrange third-party due diligence (Harod Associates), escrow and partner accreditation. The Government of Sierra Leone does not currently publish a fee schedule or agent list for the program; the fees on this page are those published by the master agent.
Our affiliate Pacific Link Consulting Pty Ltd is listed among the Official Partners published by the program's master agent and may submit applications on behalf of clients. We assess suitability, prepare the file and follow the case through to delivery; we do not represent the Government of Sierra Leone.
The four options differ in the number of applicants and the family members allowed; the Enterprise and Solo Entrepreneur options do not accept dependants.
Must pass due diligence by an independent third-party firm; there is no residency, language or education requirement. Under the program's rules, nationals of North Korea are not accepted. Heritage applicants must evidence African ancestry, usually with a DNA test report; the master agent decides how this is assessed.
Standard dependants: spouse or partner, children aged 18 or under, parents and grandparents. Special dependants: the main applicant's children aged 19–30, siblings aged 30 or under and their spouses, siblings' children aged 18 or under, and other relatives accepted by the program. Children over 30 are assessed case by case.
A Fast Track or Heritage main applicant may add one adult aged 21 or over. No proof of a family relationship is required, but the Plus One must pass due diligence in their own right.
The amounts below are the program fees published by the master agent, effective 1 October 2026, in US dollars. They are not a fee schedule published by the Government of Sierra Leone. Pacific Link's service fee is quoted separately in writing.

Enterprise applicants may optionally arrange company registration, a corporate bank account and a first-year registered address, with conditions and ongoing costs confirmed separately. All amounts are subject to the master agent's written confirmation at the time of engagement.

Free movement among the member states of the Economic Community of West African States.

The Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada and Australia all require a visa.
Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, the UAE and Russia require a visa.
Under the US presidential proclamation of 16 December 2025, entry by Sierra Leone nationals has been suspended since 1 January 2026. Dual nationals travelling on the passport of a country not subject to the restriction are exempt.
Confirm the number of applicants, dependant eligibility and optional services, and calculate the fees.

The documents are uploaded and the escrow agreement is signed.
The agreed escrow funds are paid by US-dollar bank transfer.

Under the Citizenship Act, a naturalised citizen who lives abroad for seven continuous years without registering annually at a Sierra Leone mission, or notifying the Minister in writing, may be deprived of citizenship. We provide registration guidance when the documents are delivered.
Under section 16 of the Act as amended in 2006, the Minister may by order deprive a naturalised citizen of citizenship if satisfied that continued citizenship would not be conducive to the public good. Applications must be truthful; misstatements may lead to refusal or later revocation.
We can assist with passport renewal, registration abroad and later applications for family members, quoted separately as required.
The legal and travel information on this page is based on the government and legal texts below. The program fees are published by the master agent; no government fee schedule has been published. Where they differ, official publications of the Government of Sierra Leone prevail (last reviewed 2026-10-08).
Not in the way Vanuatu, Nauru or São Tomé and Príncipe are. GO-FOR-GOLD was announced by the Sierra Leone Immigration Department and confirmed in writing by the Chief Immigration Officer as a Special Naturalisation Protocol, but no dedicated legislation or implementing regulation has been enacted and the government has not published a fee schedule; the fees are published by the master agent. Its long-term stability therefore depends more on future legislation and policy continuity.
A single applicant without family members can use Solo Entrepreneur (US$95,000 plus US$5,000 due diligence). Two applicants who can file together can use Enterprise (US$80,000 each; US$165,000 per pair including due diligence). Applicants who need to include family members can use Fast Track (from US$140,000). Applicants of African descent who can evidence it can use Heritage (from US$120,000, with family members). Neither Enterprise nor Solo Entrepreneur accepts dependants.
According to the program: the identity pre-check takes about 48 hours, due diligence about 20 days, the approval letter usually 30–60 days and the passport and citizenship certificate usually 60–90 days. These are not government commitments, and actual timelines depend on official review.
No. Under the program's arrangements, certification, signing and the oath are completed online through the designated legal partner (original documents are required), and there is no residency requirement. Citizens living abroad long term should note the registration rules under the Citizenship Act; we can assist.
No. The Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States all require a visa, and since 1 January 2026 the United States has suspended entry by Sierra Leone nationals, with an exemption for dual nationals travelling on another country's passport. The Henley Passport Index (July 2026) lists 63 destinations without a prior visa. The passport is best seen as a second citizenship with West African regional mobility.
The escrow funds are paid by US-dollar bank transfer into the escrow account named in the escrow agreement and released after approval on the agreed conditions. Refund terms on refusal are governed by the escrow agreement and the master agent's terms; we set them out in writing before engagement.
Sierra Leone has permitted dual citizenship since its 2006 amendment, and the program does not require you to renounce another nationality. Whether your home country lets you keep its nationality depends on its own law and should be confirmed before applying.
Our affiliate Pacific Link Consulting Pty Ltd is listed among the Official Partners published by the program's master agent (TG 2050 LTD). We assess eligibility, calculate fees, prepare the documents, coordinate the pre-check, and follow the agreements, payment, online certification, submission, approval and delivery. We are not a government body; citizenship is decided by the Government of Sierra Leone.
